Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Our practice is led by a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, ensuring that all clinicians receive guidance in neurodiversity affirming care. This advanced training helps our team provide more understanding, individualized, and evidence-based support for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication and social interaction. Individuals with ASD may have difficulty understanding social cues, expressing themselves, and forming relationships. They may also have repetitive behaviors, difficulties with sensory processing, and intense interests in specific subjects.

The counselors at Good Thoughts understand the unique needs of individuals with Autism and are trained to provide a safe and supportive environment. They use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and Social Skills Training (SST) to help individuals with autism improve their communication, social interaction and overall quality of life.
